ECOSLINK Team led the development of the groundbreaking Loss and Damage from Climate Change in the IGAD Region 2026 covering six IGAD Member States including Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan and Uganda. The report was financed by OXFAM International and FAO on behalf of IGAD.

Through funding support from UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, ECOSLINK undertook Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) consultancy work for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) Somalia between 2022 and 2024.The objective of the TNA assignment was to identify and prioritise, through country-driven participatory processes, technologies that can contribute to the adaptation and mitigation goals of the participant countries while meeting their national sustainable development goals and priorities.

ECOSLINK team was commissioned by UNEP and the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DECC), Federal Government of Somalia to undertake research titled: Updating the National Marine Ecosystem Diagnostic Analyses (MEDA) and Building Capacity. MEDA research aimed at providing relevant data for protection and sustainable management of Somalia’s coastal and marine resources.

ECOSLINK team was involved in the NDC Partnership’s Climate Action Enhancement Package (CAEP) research project aimed at revising the Federal Government of Somalia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) process in line with the Paris Agreement of the UNFCCC. The study produced three reports, specifically NDC Financing Strategy, NDC Costing Report and Sustainable Development and Macro-Economic Benefits of Somalia’s NDC Report.
